Svenskhampa.se is operated and published by Daniel Johansson personally. Daniel also founded helsama.se (Helsama OÜ), a separate legal entity selling Swedish hemp products.
The two businesses are legally separate but share the same owner. Here are our principles for managing that conflict of interest transparently.
What it means in practice
- We are not independent. The publisher of Svenskhampa.se also owns a commercial hemp business. Readers need to know this to evaluate our content.
- We sometimes mention Helsama’s products. When it’s directly relevant (e.g. “a Swedish company selling Premium Hemp Powder from Gotland”) we link to helsama.se. Such links are not marked as advertising because the ownership relationship is already declared here.
- We do not review competitors’ products. When we write about competitors (Hempland, Hempzon, others) it is neutral and fact-based, never comparative. “Best hempseed test 2026” does not exist and will not exist on this site.
- We do not publish sponsored content. No sponsored posts, no affiliate marketing for third parties.
What we actually do
- Monitor regulatory decisions (EFSA, Novel Food, EU 1924/2006, Livsmedelsverket, Tullverket).
- Summarise published research on industrial hemp, Cannabis sativa, hempseed nutrition profiles, terpenes.
- Write about Swedish hemp history, Gotland terroir, flax comparisons, Viking-era textile use.
- Report industry news: new growers, regulatory changes, EU directives, hemp internationally.
Editorial independence policy
Helsama’s business operations have no influence on editorial content at Svenskhampa.se. If we report something bad for Helsama (a negative EFSA report, a law that shrinks the hemp market, criticism of Gotland growers) we publish it anyway.
This is not just a principle — it’s business-sound. A publication that only writes positively about its owner’s other ventures gets ignored fast. We want to be credible.
Who writes
Two bylines are used:
- Daniel Johansson — analysis, opinion, long-form articles, interviews, historical pieces. Daniel is the publisher of Svenskhampa.se and founder of helsama.se.
- Svenskhampa Editorial — short news items, press release summaries, calendar updates. Practically, these are also written by Daniel today, but carry a collective byline because they contain no personal analysis or opinion.
We will never invent author names or use pseudonyms. If we bring in external writers they are clearly named and their relationship to the hemp industry is declared.
Sources are cited in every article. For corrections: send to [email protected], we correct within 48h and log the change in the article footer.
Citation and linking
- We cite primary sources: EFSA Journal, NIH PubMed, SGU, Kew POWO, Bolagsverket, Eurostat. We do not cite Wikipedia or WebMD.
- Other publications may republish our articles with clear attribution and a link back to the original. Whole articles without attribution: no. Citations under 100 words or factual summaries: yes.
