Impact of CardiolRx on Myocardial Recovery in Patients With Acute Myocarditis
ClinicalTrials.gov (COMPLETED) · 2026-09-30 · ClinicalTrials.gov
English: A completed randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicentre phase 2 trial in which 109 patients with acute myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) were assigned to CardiolRx, a pharmaceutically produced cannabidiol product containing less than 5 ppm THC, or placebo for twelve weeks. The primary measures were changes in the heart muscle assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and the trial also tracked ECG, a heart-disease quality-of-life questionnaire, a suicidality rating scale and laboratory tests. The registry entry states that the trial is completed and that results have been posted to the registry; they are not reproduced here.

The outcome to be measured is agitation, and the registry gives an estimated enrolment of around 164. No results are reported in the registry entry.
Drug-gene-nutraceutical Interactions of Cannabidiol and Tacrolimus
ClinicalTrials.gov (COMPLETED) · 2026-09-30 · ClinicalTrials.gov
English: A completed phase 1 study at Indiana University with 57 participants that examined how cannabidiol affects the metabolism of tacrolimus, a drug used to prevent rejection after organ transplantation. Participants were grouped by whether they carry the gene variant that makes the CYP3A5 enzyme active and by whether they have chronic kidney disease, and the primary measure was how tacrolimus exposure changed when cannabidiol was co-administered compared with tacrolimus alone. The stated aim is to give doctors a basis for dose adjustment. The registry entry states that the study is completed and that results have been posted to the registry; they are not reproduced here.
To Check Safety of Ayurvedic Oral Cannabis in Breast and Head and Neck Cancer
ClinicalTrials.gov (ACTIVE_NOT_RECRUITING) · 2026-10-02 · ClinicalTrials.gov
English: A phase 1 study at Tata Memorial Hospital in India with twelve patients with breast cancer or oral cavity cancer, who receive capsules of an Ayurvedic cannabis preparation containing THC and CBD in a 1:1 ratio (2.5 or 5 mg of each). The study aims to establish a safe dose, examine how the substances are absorbed and study gene expression in tumour tissue. The study is ongoing but no longer recruiting, and no results are reported in the registry entry.
Ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent degradation of HIF-1α by cannabidiol disrupts pro-angiogenic synoviocyte-endothelial crosstalk in rheumatoid arthritis.
Phytomedicine · 2026 Oct · PubMed
English: A combined animal and cell study on rheumatoid arthritis, in which the researchers gave cannabidiol (CBD, 5 and 10 mg/kg) to rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis and also treated cultured synovial cells from patients with rheumatoid arthritis with CBD. They measured joint inflammation, new blood vessel formation in the synovium and bone destruction in the animals, and in the cells the levels of the protein HIF-1α and the vessel-stimulating signals VEGFA and ANG-2. The researchers reported less joint inflammation, vessel formation and bone destruction in the treated rats and that CBD increased the breakdown of HIF-1α in the cells, which they interpret as a mechanism behind the findings. The results apply to an animal model and cell cultures and have not been tested in patients.
Selective opioid-sparing effects of cannabidiol on opioid analgesia in rats.
J Pain · 2026 Oct · PubMed
English: An animal study in male and female rats in which the researchers gave cannabidiol (3.2 or 10 mg/kg) together with the opioid oxycodone and measured pain-related behaviour in a facial pain assay, locomotor activity and reward-related behaviour (conditioned place preference). They reported that cannabidiol enhanced oxycodone's antinociceptive effect in the model without affecting the reward-related measures under the conditions tested. The authors present the findings as grounds for further study; the results come from rats and cannot be transferred directly to humans.
Sex-specific role of microglia in Δ(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol-induced disruption of fear memory reconsolidation.
Neuropsychopharmacology · 2026 Oct · PubMed
English: An animal study in male and female Wistar rats that examined how a very low dose of THC (0.002 mg/kg), given immediately after a learned fear memory was retrieved, affects the so-called reconsolidation of the memory, and what role the brain's immune cells (microglia) in the hippocampus play. The researchers reported that THC disrupted reconsolidation in both sexes, that in males the effect depended on microglia and on the CB1 and PPARγ receptors, and that in females it varied with the oestrous cycle and acted only via CB1. The study is basic research on memory mechanisms in an animal model and says nothing about treatment in humans.
Using Chemical Ecology as a Guide for Development and Differentiation of Clinically Relevant Phytochemical Profiles in Cannabis Trichome.
Cannabis Cannabinoid Res · 2026 Oct · PubMed
English: A review of how biotic and abiotic factors, that is, influences from other organisms and from the physical environment, can shape the development of glandular hairs (trichomes) in cannabis and thereby its cannabinoid and terpene composition. The authors argue that cultivation's focus on either high THC or high CBD content has reduced the genetic and chemical diversity of today's cultivars. The article is a literature review of plant biology and cultivation, not a study of effects in humans.
